Hopkins - Chief Engineer/Producer
"Audio engineering and studio ownership are passions of mine that grew out my desire to write and record my own music. Big Rock Recording is the culmination of many of my dreams. I always feel honored when someone entrusts me to help realize their musical vision."
Mark Hopkins is the Chief Engineer and owner of Big Rock Recording.
Mark brings the maturity and experience that are the foundation
of our engineering staff. He has been producing and engineering
recordings since 1986. Mark’s musical roots are extensive
and vary from heavy metal to blues to jazz to punk. He is an
accomplished guitarist and is rarely seen without one of his
many instruments nearby. Mark has produced and/or engineered
recordings by many Northwest artists, too numerous to list here.
Mark and his family are natives of the Northwest and residents of
the Seattle area.
Dave Billin - Engineer/Producer
Dave is the owner or XS Noize Productions and is available
for sessions at Big Rock Recording.
Danna Daily - Engineer/Producer
Danna Daily was born on September 26th, 1963 on a Naval base
in Iwakuni, Japan. The daughter of Commander Hubert Daniel Daily
Jr., from Birmingham, Alabama and Nancee Trafton, from Anacortes,
Washington, she was a healthy bouncing baby Libra. She has lived
in the Seattle area for the last 26 years, with periodic absences.
Until recently, Danna's creative drive has been a labor of love.
Having graduated with honors in 2002, with an Associate of Applied
Arts degree from The Art Institute of Seattle in Audio Production,
Danna plans to make her living using the distillation of these
skills and talents. A life-long musician, her musical background
and intense creative drive have led her to audio production,
specifically, songwriting and engineering. She has a natural
proclivity to teach and a love of learning.
Paul Bonrud - Engineer/Producer
"Producing and recording songs requires the ability to
visualize the overall "big picture" of the song while
also maintaining great attention to detail. I believe anything
worth doing is worth doing right. I always encourage my clients
to push their limits in order for them to maximize their performance.
Nothing is more satisfying than hearing the final mix of a well
produced song that effectively presents the artist's vision."
Paul Bonrud is a multi-talented musician with extensive recording,
producing and performance experience. He began his music career
in Minneapolis as a session guitarist before moving to Seattle.
Paul wears many hats: guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist,
lyricist, vocalist, producer, and engineer. Paul's guitar playing
can be heard on Jennifer Hunter's Love, Life, and Faith, the
self-titled Side Show CD, Jim Evans' Better Angels, We Ride
(single), and Boundless CDs, as well as two Creekside CDs. Paul
has been a member of Battery Kate, the Jim Evans Band, Emeral
Isle, The Frost, Citizen Cain, Illicit Smile, and Side Show.

Big Rock Recording is a first rate facility
outfitted with the finest equipment available, but without its knowledgeable
and professional staff, all of its technical wizardry would go for
naught. Big Rock Recording celebrates the people who make the studio
live and breathe, night and day, helping our clients produce some
of Seattle’s most successful recordings.
Engineers include our own Mark Hopkins, as well as available visiting
engineers. Mark has enjoyed great success as an independent producer
and is always interested in working with new talent. We also encourage
outside producers and engineers to contact us concerning rates and
services. We offer competitive rates that can be customized to fit
the scope of your project.
